The CEEC (European Committee for Catholic Education) brings together all the European national associations of Catholic education. The CEEC meetings serve to reflect on common challenges the schools are facing and to discuss shared educational experiences.
OIDEL has been working closely with the CEEC for many years. We are regularly invited to CEEC meetings to present updates on current international discussions on the freedom of education and the rights of parents. This time we took the opportunity to also present OIDEL’s upcoming projects.
The visit to Lithuania served to deepen our understanding of the challenges and opportunities of educational freedom in Lithuania. Catholic schools serve more than 13,000 students in this country and receive state funding for teachers’ salaries and management costs.
