OIDEL participates in the Forum on Minority Issues 2025

Geneva (Switzerland), 27th–28th November 2025 | Within the framework of the United Nations, the Human Rights Council held the 18th session of the Forum on Minority Issues on the theme “The contribution of minorities to diverse, resilient, and peaceful societies”, in which OIDEL actively participated.This year, the Forum focused on how to better recognize the essential role of minorities in building inclusive societies, as well as the persistent obstacles to their full participation.

OIDEL participates in the VI Meeting of the International Forum of Catholic-Inspired NGOs in Rome

Rome (Italy), 26th-27th November 2025 | OIDEL, represented by its director Ignasi Grau, took part in the VI Meeting of the International Forum of Catholic-Inspired NGOs, held at Villa Aurelia (Rome).This gathering brings together more than 120 organizations with consultative status before intergovernmental bodies, with the aim of strengthening collaboration, sharing experiences, and enhancing the collective presence of Catholic-inspired NGOs at the international level.

Rome hosts the presentation of the Freedom of Education Index at the Chamber of Deputies

Rome (Italy), 30th September 2025 | The issue of freedom of education has recently returned to the center of public and political debate in Italy. At the Press Room of the Chamber of Deputies in Rome, the Freedom of Education Index was presented, an international report that monitors the right to education and freedom of teaching worldwide, with reference to Article 26.3 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which recognizes the right of parents to choose the kind of education to be given to their children.

Geneva (Switzerland), 16 September 2025 | At the United Nations Office at Geneva, the side event “Family as a Primary Cornerstone: Upholding Parental Roles in Ensuring the Right to Education” brought together more than 80 participants for an engaging and thoughtful discussion. The event was co-organized by the Permanent Observer Mission of the Sovereign Order of Malta to the United Nations, the Permanent Observer Mission of the Holy See to the United Nations, the Permanent Mission of Hungary to the United Nations, OIDEL, and FAFCE.
