Geneva (Switzerland), 29th October – 1st November 2024
For the first time since 2019, OIDEL collaborated with the University of Extremadura (Spain) to train Extremadura’s security forces on Human Rights from a glocal perspective.
The event tackled essential topics that integrate road safety into the framework of protecting and promoting fundamental human rights. Discussions spanned diverse subjects, such as security as a fundamental human right, child labor, the use of force, racism, and international standards for preventing torture. Each theme aimed to foster a holistic view of road safety within a broader humanitarian and rights-based context. Participants also had the unique opportunity to tour the United Nations Palace and explore Geneva, a city whose atmosphere reinforces our commitment to a vision of global security grounded in humanitarian values.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all participants, collaborators, and experts who made this event possible: José Antonio Michilini (Argentine judge), David Fernandez Puyana (UPEACE), David Díaz (OHCHR), Laura Jaffrey (OHCHR), Victor Díaz (ECLT), Roi Fernandez (ECLT) and Jordi Ortiz (Univerisity of Extremadura)
We hope to repeat this course soon!
