Geneva (Switzerland), 15th–17th September 2025 | OIDEL, in partnership with the University of La Rioja, hosted a training on Institutional Modernization and Digital Government within the framework of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

The program brought together high-level experts, including Ana María Vega Gutiérrez (Professor of State Ecclesiastical Law and Director of the UNESCO Chair in Democratic Citizenship and Cultural Freedom, University of La Rioja), Helen Griffiths (Human Rights Officer, UN Human Rights, OHCHR), Aitana Jáñez Pedrayes (Specialist on Children’s and Youth Rights, UN Human Rights, OHCHR), Ignasi Grau (Director General of OIDEL and Coordinator of the Freedom of Education Index), and Kamilia Amdouni (Technology Policy Specialist, ITU). Their contributions provided valuable perspectives on how institutional modernization and digital governance can advance the implementation of the 2030 Agenda while reinforcing the protection of human rights.

Beyond the sessions, participants visited the United Nations in Geneva, the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Museum, and enjoyed a cultural tour of the city. They also engaged in activities at the Human Rights Council, including a side event co-organized by OIDEL that focused on defending the role of parents in guaranteeing the right to education.
