The event was hosted by Antonella Sberna, Vice-President of the European Parliament, and MEP Mariateresa Vivaldini. Both Sberna and Vivaldini emphasized the primacy of parental rights and educational freedom in EU discussion

Brussels (Belgium), 13th-14th January 2026 | In 2025, the European Alliance for Christian Education (EACE) was officially founded as an EU lobby group, building on over a decade of gatherings under the name Brussels Considerations. Today, EACE brings together leaders of evangelical schools across Europe, representing more than 1,100 schools and 250,000 students—and the network is still growing.
OIDEL at the International School Choice and Reform Conference 2026
Rome (Italy), 8th-11th January 2026 | Once a year, scholars from around the world gather to present and discuss the latest research and developments in school choice and educational freedom. This year’s conference, organized by EdChoice, brought together over 200 delegates.
OIDEL Participates in UNESCO International Symposium on the Future of the Right to Education
Paris (France), 11th December 2025 | UNESCO recently hosted the International Symposium on the Future of the Right to Education: Renewing Global Commitments and Charting Future Directions at its Headquarters in Paris. The event marked the 65th anniversary of the 1960 Convention against Discrimination in Education, served as the official closing of the 11th Consultation on the Convention, and included the launch of the 2025 Global Report on the Right to Education.
OIDEL participates in the Forum on Minority Issues 2025
Geneva (Switzerland), 27th–28th November 2025 | Within the framework of the United Nations, the Human Rights Council held the 18th session of the Forum on Minority Issues on the theme “The contribution of minorities to diverse, resilient, and peaceful societies”, in which OIDEL actively participated.This year, the Forum focused on how to better recognize the essential role of minorities in building inclusive societies, as well as the persistent obstacles to their full participation.
OIDEL participates in the VI Meeting of the International Forum of Catholic-Inspired NGOs in Rome
Rome (Italy), 26th-27th November 2025 | OIDEL, represented by its director Ignasi Grau, took part in the VI Meeting of the International Forum of Catholic-Inspired NGOs, held at Villa Aurelia (Rome).This gathering brings together more than 120 organizations with consultative status before intergovernmental bodies, with the aim of strengthening collaboration, sharing experiences, and enhancing the collective presence of Catholic-inspired NGOs at the international level.

Geneva (Switzerland), 30th–31st October 2025 | Within the framework of the United Nations, the Human Rights Council convened the 2025 Social Forum under the theme “The contribution of education to the respect, promotion, protection and fulfilment of all human rights for all,” in which OIDEL actively participated.
