Rome (Italy), 8th-11th January 2026 | Once a year, scholars from around the world gather to present and discuss the latest research and developments in school choice and educational freedom. This year’s conference, organized by EdChoice, brought together over 200 delegates.
Josyane Zingg, Advocacy Officer at OIDEL, attended the conference and served as a panelist in two sessions. The first panel addressed accountability in educational pluralism, alongside EdChoice (a U.S.-based research and advocacy organization) and Cardus (a Canadian think tank). The second panel focused on family freedom in homeschooling, with advocates from Portugal, Italy, Brazil, and the United States sharing experiences, challenges, and successes. The discussion also covered UNESCO’s recent report on homeschooling and its impact across different regions of the world.
For OIDEL, this conference is an important opportunity: it offers access to new research and international perspectives that strengthen our advocacy work in support of freedom of education worldwide.
