V International Congress on Human Rights and Education – Valencia (Spain)

On February 3 and 4, the V International Congress on Human Rights and Education took place in Valencia, organized by the Mainel Foundation.

This two-day congress took place at the Valencia Bar Association and was sponsored by the Generalitat Valenciana. Among the speakers, there were Miguel Ángel Sancho, president of the European Institute for Education and Society, the Hispanist Inger Enkvist, philosophers Gregorio Luri and José Ignacio Murillo, former director of the Office of the High Commissioner for the 2030 Agenda in Spain Federico Buyolo and the writer Catherine L’Ecuyer.

Ignasi Grau, director of OIDEL, was invited to give a presentation titled “The challenges of the right to education: An international approach”. The purpose of the presentation was to recall that education continues to be above all an essential human right to guarantee the dignity of the human being. The presentation served to bring the recent reports of UNESCO and the UN Special related to education as a cultural right and common good closer to local actors.

Likewise, the Congress served to share the work of OIDEL with the attendees.
