OIDEL’s Director General, Ignasi Grau Callizo, and Jan De Groof, Government Commissioner for Universities of the Flemish Community of Belgium, have published an article in El Debate (Spanish Newspaper) addressing a key issue for the future of our education systems: educational pluralism.
From a public policy perspective, it is essential to move towards a stable educational framework that recognises and promotes educational pluralism, particularly in light of the latest PISA results.
As the authors state:
“Instead of continuing to experiment, we need to consolidate what works”.
In this context, the initiative to develop the Guiding Principles on Educational Pluralism seeks to contribute to a more robust and long-term debate on education, centred around two key elements: “placing parents at the heart of the educational debate and establishing a knowledge-rich curriculum accompanied by an effective assessment system.”
